I have some shocking news. I read this news on BBC website. Recently in Mozambique, Africa, over 1,000 people have passed away because they weren’t able to receive appropriate care. In the country, 100,000 people can get only 3 doctors, so people must walk over an hour to go to the nearest medical center, and they often face the shortage of a medicine. However, in addition to it, health workers such as nurses or psychologists are going on the strike for their salary and development of a medical equipment. The strike was started by 50,000 people. Doctors don’t join the strike, but a lot of medical centers don’t hire them. Therefore, medical centers can’t give the nation the sufficient treatments. There is no food for patients, medical equipment, or even gasoline for ambulances. Some people share a hospital bed, and others have to wait to see a doctor until the next day. I think it is bad for patients, who need immediate attention. So, the government should review the working environment for medical workers and request them and equipment from other countries as soon as possible to protect the public.
