As a sacred place for Kannon, who symbolizes great compassion, it has been open to the common people since ancient times and has been loved by a wide range of people. Old historical books and literature depict many people enjoying visiting Kiyomizu-dera Temple. The precincts of 130,000 square meters, which spread out halfway up Mt. Otowa in the east of Kyoto, are lined with more than 30 temples and temples, including national treasures and important cultural properties. Since its founding, the temple has been destroyed by large fires more than 10 times, but it has been rebuilt many times due to strong faith. Most of the current temple was rebuilt in 1633.
