Look at height and connections
Compare the round shapes in a, c, e, and o; the tall strokes in l, h, and b; and the descending loops in g, j, and y. Dots on i and j and the crossbar on t are separate marks. An exit stroke may look different in an isolated letter and in a connected word.
Why does the chart differ from the fonts?
The chart uses the same hand-drawn models as the stroke guide. Those models are separate from the eight decorative fonts. They show one approach, not a universal standard: schools and handwriting methods differ. Once a letter feels familiar, try a short connected phrase such as thank you.
